January Newsletter

A very warm welcome back to all of our wonderful families.  We hope your Christmas/New Year break was relaxing.   We are looking forward to caring for your children and watching them grow and develop in 2011 !

Public Holidays

Parents, please remember that we will closed on the two public holidays next week - Wednesday 26th January is a public holiday for Australia Day, and Friday 28th is a public holiday for the Stanthorpe Show.

Australia Day Celebrations

On Tuesday 25th January (the day before Australia Day), our Centre will celebrate Australia Day.  We’ll eat Aussie food, including ANZAC biscuits and ‘snags’ and Sheryl is even going to have a go at making some damper, which we will eat with golden syrup…. yum. The children will make some Aussie flags, and learn about our different sports, sporting colours, and look at how to make damper.

Meetings/Parent Communication

Parents, we are always happy to talk to you about any matter you wish to discuss.   We also have a suggestion box in the foyer if you would like to contribute.  We have bi-monthly staff meetings which you are welcome to attend.   Our next one being Tuesday 1st February at 6pm.

Meals

Sheryl is doing an awesome job in the kitchen, cooking up a wide variety of foods that are healthy and tasty for the children.  New items on the menu include frozen yoghurt and fruit/juice ice blocks, which are definitely a hit.   Also we’ve had creamy rice, cheese twists, and even rainbow jelly cups for a treat!
